The 2012 Gathering brought Academy Snowboards’ team and friends together in Tahoe for a week of photoshoots, bbqs, and adventures.  Our crew comes from different backgrounds and regions, and when we reunite every spring there’s a special magic in the air that ignites everyone that comes in contact.  This season was no different as one after another stepped up to stoke out the crowd with tech moves, flawless style, and stories from back home.

We have a unique crew that make up the Academy family and it’s always a pleasure to bring everyone together to share their spirit, passion and style. Here’s a little sneak peak from an amazing week in Tahoe!

Just because the lifts in Tahoe have stopped spinning, doesn’t mean the shred season has to be over!  Jon Slaughter and Matt Aspinall dusted off their Academy Team boards and climbed to the top to earn their turns. Lookin Good Amigos!

Camp Academy Recapped!!

Our 6th annual Camp Academy rocked Boreal’s closing weekend this April!! With over 70 campers, coaches, and team riders coming out to throw down, the weekend was dominated by smiles, slams, slush, and sunshine!!

Some of the highlights from the weekend included Jonas Michilot’s personal powder kicker he built for his campers to chuck backflips off (who had originally showed up to work on their indy grabs)! A couple campers who came out to learn to ride for the very first time were shocked to be thrashing boxes and rails by the end of the weekend. And, Jordan Michilot continued to stoke his campers all weekend and gave them tips on proper boarding style, grab technique, and hair fashion! The weekend also included a live performance by Reggae Artist J-Ras, a sneak-peak tour of the Woodward at Tahoe Barn, and a camper contest that drew the attention of the entire resort!
